End of Year Family Newsletter 2018

From the Director

Firstly, we would like to say a huge thank you to all of our families who came along to celebrate our end of year Christmas celebrations with the children.

The children had an amazing time performing for the families with Via Dance and Happy feet. We were so excited to have Mr Oopy come along and perform for you all. The children got involved with singing, dancing, catching bubbles and playing musical instruments.

All the rooms have been busy with an enriched program for the term. The centre has been focusing on reinforcing the Montessori practices like encouraging independence. Many children have been learning how to pour water into a cup, put their jackets and shoes on for themselves. All the children in the Kindy rooms have been working towards toilet training and they have all done an amazing job at achieving this.

The key areas that all rooms have focused on this term have been: Practical Life skills, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics and Culture.

Topics covered in the classrooms were: occupations, community jobs, farm animals, sea creatures, Insects, recycling, remembrance day, United nations – children’s rights, culture, learning how to count, addition, colour identification, writing their names, sentence writing and learning about Christmas celebrations.

All the educators have enjoyed working with each and every child and look forward to working with them again.

To all the children and families who are moving onto the next chapter in their lives as their child starts primary school, we wish you all the very best.

We thank you all for being a part of the Precious Cargo family. We appreciate all your ongoing support and involvement.

Below are some photos of our Christmas celebrations here at Precious Cargo last Dec 14.

On behalf of Samantha Coppin and all the staff, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe New Year.
