January Family Newsletter 2019

From the Director

Well here we are at the end of January already however it seems like Christmas was just yesterday. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and enjoyed your family time.

The beginning of the year is always a busy one with children leaving to go to school and begin their next adventure, we wish them all the best and then we have new children starting which is a stressful time for the child and the family.

We have also had children graduate to the next class which can cause some children to be unsettled as they have built great relationships with the educators in the previous room.

With graduations we ensure that the children have had visits to their new rooms prior to moving permanently to assist with them settling into the new environment.

Staffing changes have been minimal and the team leaders are as follows:

Nursery Team Leader –Natalie
Waddler 1 Team Leader –Tatum
Waddler 2 Team Leader –Trupal
PreKindy Team Leader – Paige
Kindy 1 Team Leader – Jodie
Kindy 2 Team Leader – Juliana
Preschool Team Leader – Ali

Please feel free to discuss any concerns/ questions with the team leader of your child’s room.

I would also like to advise you that Terese the Director of Precious Cargo Collinswood resigned over the Christmas period as she needed to return to Darwin. We wish Terese all the best.

I am currently looking for a new Director for the Centre and will advise you when we have appointed one. In the meantime I will be directing Collinswood however I will not be at the Centre all the time so please feel free to email me on the cwdirector@preciouscargoeducation.com.au and I will get in contact with you as soon as possible if you have any questions, feedback or concerns.

Over the next few weeks you may get messages on the iPad when you sign in or out your child, these messages are asking you to see one of the staff who are in the reception area of the Centre. The reason for these messages is that we are doing an audit on the files we have for families and there are certain requirements that Centrelink have and also requirements through the childcare Regulations.

As there is a lot of paperwork required sometimes pieces get overlooked so we do apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you. If you have any questions about the forms please ask at reception.

One of the important forms is the Complying Written Agreement and these have to be signed everytime you make permanent changes to your childs bookings, this was a requirement under the new Childcare Subsidy.

Administration News

To ensure your ongoing CCS payments please ensure your child is signed in/out at every attendance.

Statement of Entitlement

Regulations also now require us to provide a Statement of Entitlements (your account) to parents/guardians of children eligible for CCS or ACCS enrolled in our services once every fortnight which includes details of the sessions of care provided and the resulting fee reduction amounts.

As a result this will mean that from the next charging (24/1/19) we will be providing you with an account that covers a 4 week period – the current week, the previous week and the next 2 weeks.

Notice of intention to Leave

Long Day Care – When families no longer require a place in the child care classes, the centre must be notified in writing. Please note we require a minimum of 4 weeks written notice. The account will be settled using the funds from the bond payment. If there is any outstanding balance then the family must finalise that immediately.

If the family has a credit this amount will be refunded to them once their account has been reconciled.

IMPORTANT NOTICE – Once you have provided your 4 week notice period the Child Care Subsidy is only applicable up to your last day of attendance. If your last day of attendance is prior to the end of your 4 week notice period you will be responsible for the payment of the full fee of each day from the last day of attendance until the completion of the 4 week notice period.

ELC – Families are required to give a minimum of 4 weeks written notice prior to the end of each block if your child(ren) are not continuing in the next block. Upon receiving 4 weeks’ notice your bond will be used to supplement your child’s last 4 weeks of the 12 week block.

In the event that 4 weeks written notice is not provided, you will forfeit 1 week of your bond for each week under the required 4 weeks’ notice period, for example if you give 2 weeks’ notice you will lose 2 weeks of your bond.

Fortnightly Payments

Our Centre relies on the timely payment of fees to enable us to meet our obligations to pay operating costs, most of which have fixed and regular dates for payment. We ask that sufficient funds are held in your nominated account to meet your fortnightly payment.

Accounts are emailed to you on the Tuesday prior to the Thursday charge and we ask that you review your account and contact the Admin Centre by the Wednesday (4pm at the latest) should you have any queries as we are not able to reverse payments after that time Reminder of Change in payment provider.

As previously advised, our software provider is changing the company that processes our payments. Your statements will from 21/1/19 show Debitsuccess (this changes from Ezidebit).

Happy Feet Fitness

Happy New Year!

For those of you who don’t know, my name is Dani Bayadi and I am very fortunate to be the Happy Feet Fitness instructor at your beautiful centre. I’m also the SA Manager for Happy Feet Fitness and have watched many children, families and centres fall in love with this program since we launched into SA 18 months ago.

Happy Feet Fitness classes are interactive themed adventure classes that get children moving, learning and laughing. Each week I run a different themed class full of original music, movement, magic, costumes, games and fun.

Taking the concept of play-based learning to another level, Happy Feet Fitness prides itself on delivering educational content, positive reinforcement and social development skills in a super fun and exciting class format.

This engaging class will develop your child’s fine and gross motor skills and can take the quietest and shiest of children and connect with them, assisting with their confidence.

Currently I am teaching classes on Mondays and Wednesdays at your centre. Sadly, I have had to say goodbye to several children who have moved onto school, kindy and other, and I would love to fill these spaces with YOUR child. Happy Feet classes are targeted at children between 18 months and 6 years old.

Being at your centre, there is no need to run your child around, and you don’t pay for costumes or dance shoes etc.

At $9.50 a class, Happy Feet Fitness is incredible value. Your child will get to use varied props, wear our specially designed costumes and interact in our very funny tricks. Not to mention the educational, social, health and fitness benefits your child gets from participating in a Happy Feet Fitness class.

I provide weekly communication via email to all families about the class as well as special certificates, reports and photos.

If you would like to enrol your child in my class then you can register online at www.happyfeetfitness.com.au, fill out an enrolment form from the front desk, or simply add your child’s name to the poster out the front of your centre. Your child’s first class will always be a free trial and I will let you know how they go.

If you have any questions about the program, please fill free to contact me on 0431 753 859 or dani@happyfeetadmin.com.au

I look forward to having lots of fun with your child!
