I developed a passion for working with children when I was in high school. I completed my high school work experience in a primary school, and was also a children’s ice skating assistant for 5 years.
When I graduated from high school in 2016, I moved on to complete my Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. During this time, I worked as an assistant in a large Nursery Room, as well as an assistant in Out of School Hours Care.
Once I completed my Bachelor, I moved into the position of Preschool teacher, and spent an amazing three years in the role of Preschool Teacher and Educational Leader. Whilst in this position, I realised how much I enjoyed mentoring and inspiring those around me, and decided to study again, moving on to study a Diploma in Training Design & Development, a Diploma in Vocational Education & Training, and a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.
I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to work as a Trainer Assessor for three years, in which I was able to guide, mentor and share my experiences with students looking to enter the field of Early Childhood Education. Whilst I loved being able to mentor and share my knowledge and experience with others, I missed the children and families that I had the opportunity to work with for so many years.
From here, I decided to return to a childcare centre, and was fortunate enough to spend twelve months within a small, community based centre, before leaving to have my first child and get married. With so many life changes, I decided that it was time for me to have a change, and was fortunate enough to be employed as the Director for Precious Cargo Woodville Park.
During my short time here so far, I have felt so welcomed into such a strong family based centre, and am learning new skills every day, as well as sharing my knowledge with the other educators. I love the Montessori approach to teaching and learning, and enjoy seeing the children learn and thrive in their environments.
